Electrodialytic remediation of municipal solid waste incineration fly ash as pre-treatment before geopolymerisation with coal fly ash

چکیده

Municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) fly ash is classified as hazardous and needs to be disposed of according strict regulations. By disposal, valuable resources in the MSWI lost, other solutions are sought for. The effect electrodialytic remediation (ED) a pre-treatment for removing heavy metals from before using treated geopolymerization with coal was explored. ED increased Si reactivity Si/Al ratio. mixture 80% 20% 8 M NaOH (L/S 0.37 mL/g) found optimal, resulting compressive strength 15.3 MPa, which higher than reference geopolymer. leaching concentrations Pb, Zn, Cr, Cu Ni were below 0.02 mg/L Mn Cd at 0.023 0.027 mg/L, respectively. enhanced mechanism geopolymer confirmed by FTIR analysis SEM images. resistance against extreme environments stronger raw geopolymer, physical encapsulation geopolymeric gels contributed metal immobilization. • electrolytic pretreatment applied. MSIW moral recycling reached 20%. Physical

Mercury Levels In Fly Ash And Apc Residue From Municipal Solid Waste Incineration Before And After Electrodialytic Remediation

Fly ash (FA) and Air Pollution Control (APC) residues collected from three municipal solid waste incinerators (MSWI) in Denmark and Greenland were treated by electrodialytic remediation at pilot scale for 8 to 10 h. The original residues and the treated material were analysed for mercury (Hg) in order to assess the influence of the electrodialytic treatment on the concentrations of this element...

Phosphorus recovery from municipal solid waste incineration fly ash.

The potential of phosphorus (P) recycling from municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) residue is investigated. Vast and ever increasing amounts of incineration residues are produced worldwide; these are an environmental burden, but also a resource, as they are a major sink for the material flows of society. Due to strict environmental regulations, in combination with decreasing landfilling s...

Toxicity mitigation and solidification of municipal solid waste incinerator fly ash using alkaline activated coal ash.

Municipal solid waste (MSW) incineration is a common and effective practice to reduce the volume of solid waste in urban areas. However, the byproduct of this process is a fly ash (IFA), which contains large quantities of toxic contaminants. The purpose of this research study was to analyze the chemical, physical and mechanical behaviors resulting from the gradual introduction of IFA to an alka...

Environmental Management of Fly Ash Produced from the Incineration of Municipal Solid Waste

Incineration is a widely used and well established technology for the municipal solid waste (MSW) management. Modern MSW incineration plants are equipped with improved air pollution control (APC) systems, which reduce pollutants well below the established limits. The environmental concern has, thus, moved from the air emissions to the solid residues generated from the APC systems of the inciner...

Speciation of copper in the incineration fly ash of a municipal solid waste.

The speciation of copper and zinc in the incineration fly ash of a municipal solid waste in Taiwan was investigated in the present work. By the least-squares fitted X-ray absorption near edge structural (XANES) spectroscopy, we found that CuCO3, CuOH2, and CuO (fractions of 0.09, 0.39 and 0.51, respectively) were the main copper species in the fly ash. Quantitative analysis of the extended X-ra...
